When columnist Charles Krauthammer and his wife Robin co-founded Pro Musica Hebraica, they modestly described their project to recover "lost" Jewish music as a "mom and pop" operation. Within three years, they have helped retrieve and present works that were slipping away and might have been forgotten were it not for their diligence.ARC, the award-winning ensemble-in-residence at Toronto's Royal Conservatory of Music, and Canadian bass Robert Pomakov are touring in a program of works by three Jewish composers affected by World War II.This program is born out of a series they have been doing about composers who suffered from racial or religious oppression. The works in this presentation are dramatically linked by the war, all written within a few years of each other, but composed by three people in totally different circumstances.
